There’s a cool charity auction where you can bid to have former Bear great Shaun Gayle along with former Viking players Chris Doleman and John Randle come to your house to watch the vikings @ Bears game on 9-24.

Bears shut Roy Williams and the Lions up, 34-7

The Bears have looked “super” so far this season. The Bears didn’t need Roy Williams to fire them up, but it seems like he might have. The Bears dominated this game from the get go. Rex Grossman is looking like a Pro Bowler so far this season (I know it’s only 2 games)! Grossman completed 20 of 27 passes (74.1%) for 289 yards and 4 TDs! RB Thomas Jones found the Lions run defense to be tough as he only gained 64 yards on 21 carries (3.0 ypc). Cedric Benson carried the ball 10 times for 25 yards (2.5 ypc). WR Bernard Berrian had a great game catching 5 passes for 89 yards (17.8 avg) and a TD. Mushin Muhammad caught 4 passes for 59 yards (14.8 avg). Grossman is using his tight ends quite a bit and it’s really helping the offense. TE Desmond Clark caught 5 passes for 85 yards (17.0 avg) and a TD. TE John Gilmore caught 2 passes for 8 yards, but both were for TDs.

You really don’t want to give the Bears defense bulletin board material, but WR Roy Williams did anyways. The Lions could only muster 46 yards rushing on 14 carries (3.3 ypc). The Lions completed 76.7% of their passes but for only 199 yards, as most of them were quick strikes because of the pressure the Bears defense was applying.

Another dominating performance by the Bears.

This game does not appear to be the mis-match that it looked like it would be before the season started. Both of these defenses put on a show in week #1, the Packers shut out the Packers and the Bears held the defending NFC Champions to three field goals.

For the Lions
