Rashied Davis steps up on the big stage

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General by ravenhater on Wednesday 17 January 2007 at 1:14 am

Rashied Davis made the biggest catch of the season for the Bears in the playoffs last week when he caught a 30-yard pass in OT to set up the game-winning field goal. He also caught 3 other passes for 54 yards in the game which kind of came out of nowhere. Afterall, Davis has only caught 22 passes for 303 yards in his first two seasons for the Bears with 2 TD grabs. Hopefully he can give another good performance this weekend against the Saints.

Rex is not the problem

We all need to take a deep breath. Yeah, we suffer through “Good Rex, Bad Rex” but this team is not built on a gun-slinger. The Bears were built on a strong running game…and more important, a smothering defense. The secondary is as holey as swiss cheese. And for Alexander to get over 100 yards rushing is just pathetic. I thought we were supposed to be deep in defensive talent, but the Bears have slipped from Number 1 to the 5th defense overall. And the coaches certainly have to make better decisions with time-outs. No more lapses. It’s time for the Bears to go back to basics….and get rid of this “cover two” scheme.

The Bears have great depth at the QB position but none of the play callers are true difference makers for the offense.
