This was a smart move by the Bears as Briggs is every bit as good of a player as Brian Urlacher is. The Bears would be real smart to try to lock up Briggs long term as he is a fantastic football player. Briggs has to be somewhat upset because he would have been a very desirable free agent and would have made even more than the Bears will pay him next season.
