The Bears have traded running back Thomas Jones and the #63 pick in the NFL Draft to the New York Jets for the #37 pick in the NFL Draft. The Bears better hope that they can keep Cedric Benson healthy as Thomas Jones rushed for 1,210 yards last season. Benson rushed for 647 yards last season and now will be the main man in the running attack for the Bears. Benson will do a good job, but I still don’t think the Bears made a good trade here.
Thomas Jones was a solid football player for the Chicago Bears in his three years here. He played in 45 games (all starts) and he carried the ball 850 times for 3,493 yards (4.1 ypc) with 22 TD runs. He also caught 118 passes for 724 yards (6.1 avg). Jones will be missed.
