Cleveland Browns 13, Chicago Bears 10
The Bears really laid an egg in Cleveland last night losing on the last play of the game when Phil Dawson hit a 36-yard field goal. Todd Collins got his first game action with the Bears last night and he looked good in completing 10 of 15 passes for 139 yards with 1 TD pass. Rookie Dan LeFevour didn’t look good last night completing 4 of 9 passes for 44 yards. Khalil Bell led the way on the ground for the Bears with 32 yards rushing on 12 carries (2.7 ypc). Chester Taylor pitched in last night with 23 yards rushing on 4 carries (5.8 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 12 yards. WR Rashied Davis (3 rec, 65 yards) and TE Greg Olsen (1 rec, 15 yards, TD) led the way in the passing game last night. The Bears finished up with 58 yards rushing (2.6 ypc) and 168 yards passing in this game.
Defensively the Bears were led by LB Kevin Malast who had 12 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack, 1 QB hit and a fumble recovery that set up the Bears’ TD. DE Henry Melton (7 tackles), LB Brian Iwuh (7 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) and LB Tim Shaw (7 tackles) also pitched on on D last night. The Browns finished up with 122 yards rushing (3.7 ypc) and 208 yards passing in this game. The Bears finished a perfectly awul 0-4 on the pre-season.
