The Bears looked good in the first half last night as they were winning 10-7 at the break.  But then the Lions kicked their butts up and down the field for the rest of the game.  Jay Cutler was under attack all night long but he still managed to complete 28 of 38 passes for 249 yards with 1 TD pass and 0 INTs.  Matt Forte had another really solid game for the Bears last night with 116 yards rushing on 22 carries (5.3 ypc) and he also caught 4 passes for 35 yards (8.8 avg).  WRs Dane Sanzenbacher (6 rec, 64 yards), Sam Hurd (4 rec, 50 yards), Devin Hester (5 rec, 32 yards) and TE Kellen Davis (3 rec, 25 yards, TD) led the way in the passing attack for the Bears in this game.  The Bears finished up with 122 yards rushing on 25 carries (4.9 ypc) and they also completed 28 of 38 passes (73.7%) for 237 yards as they had possession of the ball for 39:03.

The Bears made big plays in all three phases of the game today, and that team effort got them a hard fought win over the visiting Panthers.  Jay Cutler was little more than a game manager for the Bears today.  He completed 9 of 17 passes for 102 yards without a TD pass and 1 interception.  Matt Forte carried the offense for the Bears today as he carried the ball 25 times for 205 yards (8.2 ypc) with 2 TD runs.  He also caught 4 passes for 23 yards (5.8 avg) in this game.  Marion Barber pitched in with 17 yards rushing on 5 carries (3.4 ypc) with 1 TD run.  WR Johnny Knox led the way in the passing game for the Bears with 3 grabs for 48 yards (16.0 avg).  Devin Hester didn’t catch any passes today, but he returned 2 kickoffs for 73 yards (36.5 avg) and a punt 69 yards for a TD.  The Bears finished up with 224 yards rushing on 31 carries (7.2 ypc) and they also completed 9 of 17 passes (52.9%) for 93 yards as they had possession of the ball for 26:31.

Moore had 2 tackles, 1 pass defensed and a interception that he returned 20 yards for a TD.  The Panthers finished up with 169 yards rushing on 26 carries (6.5 ypc) and they also completed 27 of 46 passes (58.7%) for 374 yards.  The Bears have now evened their record at 2-2 on the year.

The Bears got ambushed in the Big Easy yesterday as the Saints were really inspired in front of their home crowd.  Jay Cutler was sacked six times yesterday and it seemed to shake his confidence a bit.  He completed 19 of 45 passes for 244 yards with 1 TD pass and 0 INTs.  He also carried the ball 1 time for 12 yards and he lost a fumble in this game.  Matt Forte was the focal point of the Bears’ offense yesterday as he carried the ball 10 times for 49 yards (4.9 ypc) and he also caught 10 passes for 117 yards (11.7 avg).  WRs Johnny Knox (2 rec, 45 yards) and Dane Sanzenbacher (3 rec, 33 yards, TD0 also pitched in for the Bears in the passing game.  The Bears finished up with 60 yards rushing on 12 carries (5.0 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 45 passes (42.2%) for 186 yards as they only had possession of the ball for 23:46.

Almost everything that could go wrong did for the Bears yesterday.  Jay Cutler hurt a knee in this game and he just couldn’t go on.  He completed 6 of 14 passes for 80 yards with 0 TD passes and 1 INT.  He also carried ball 2 times for 10 yards (5.0 ypc) yesterday.  Todd Collins replaced him and he was 0 for 4 passing before being yanked late in the 3rd quarter by Lovie Smith.  Caleb Hanie finished up this game by completing 13 of 20 passes for 153 yards with 1 TD pass and 2 INTs (one was returned for a TD by Packers’ NT B.J. Raji).  Despite the Bears falling short, Hanie did provide a spark to the offense.  Matt Forte was very solid in this game for the Bears as he carried the ball 17 times for 70 yards (4.1 ypc) and he also caught 10 passes for 90 yards (9.0 avg) yesterday.  Chester Taylor only rushed for 2 yards on 3 carries (0.7 ypc) with a TD run.  He also caught 1 pass for 12 yards in this game.  WRs Johnny Knox (2 rec, 56 yards) and Earl Bennett (3 rec, 45 yards with a TD grab) led the way in the passing game.  The Bears finished up with 83 yards rushing on 24 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 38 passes for 218 yards as they only had possession of the ball for 25:56.
