The Chicago Bears will be without Garrett Wolfe for a little while

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Injury Reports, General by admin on Tuesday 10 November 2009 at 5:59 pm

The Bears will likely be without running back Garrett Wolfe for another week or two due to a lacerated kidney.  He has played in 8 games this season for the Bears and he has carried the ball 22 times for 120 yards (5.5 ypc) and he has caught 2 passes for 12 yards (6.0 avg).  Wolfe is also a good special teams player as he has racked up 10 tackles already this season.  Wolfe’s injury will hurt the Bears more on special teams than offense as Matt Forte and Adrian Peterson are ahead of him on the depth chart.

UPDATE:  Garrett Wolfe has been placed on the Injured Reserve List for the Bears ending his season.

Pisa Tinoisamoa is out for the season for the Chicago Bears

28-year old linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa is out for the season due to right knee surgery.  He finishes his season having played in 2 games in which he made 4 tackles, had 1 tackle for a loss and he forced 1 fumble.  This hurts the depth at linebacker for the Bears but it’s not like Tinoisamoa played that much for the Bears this season anyway.

Adrian Peterson won’t be playing for the Chicago Bears for 2-3 weeks

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Big Bear News, Injury Reports, General by admin on Monday 5 October 2009 at 6:45 pm

Backup running back Adrian Peterson will miss the next 2-3 weeks due to a strained MCL in his right knee.  Peterson has carried the ball 5 times for 28 yards (5.6 ypc) so far this season and he has also caught 2 passes for 11 yards (5.5 avg).  The Bears were planning on getting Peterson more involved in the offense until he got injured.  Smallish Garrett Wolfe will move up the depth chart and get a boost in playing time.  Look for him to give Matt Forte a breather on some third downs to keep him fresh.  Wolfe has carried the ball 11 times for 45 yards (4.1 ypc) with a TD run and he has also caught 2 passes for 12 yards (6.0 avg) so far this year.  As long as Matt Forte stays healthy, Peterson’s injury won’t hurt the Bears.

The Chicago Bears lose DT Israel Idonije for a while

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Big Bear News, Injury Reports, General by admin on Monday 5 October 2009 at 6:40 pm

The Bears with be without 28-year old DT Israel Idonije for a while after he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery earlier today.  There is no timetable back for his return yet.  He has played in all 4 games for the Bears this season and he has 4 tackles, 1 sack and he has forced a fumble.  Luckily for the Bears that they are very deep along the D-Line so they won’t miss Idonije too much while he’s out.

Desmond Clark of the Chicago Bears has a cracked rib

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Big Bear News, Injury Reports, General by admin on Thursday 17 September 2009 at 1:00 am

32-year old TE Desmond Clark cracked a rib against the Packers and he could miss a few weeks.  Clark caught 1 pass for 23 yards against the Packers before hurting himself.  Clark played in all 16 games for the Bears last season and he caught 41 passes for 367 yards (9.0 avg) with 1 TD grab.  Kellen Davis will replace Clark and that’s quite a drop especially in the passing game.  Davis played in all 16 games for the Bears as a rookie last season but he didn’t catch any passes.  He returned 1 kickoff for 13 yards and he made 4 tackles on special teams.  The Bears need Davis to step up and catch some passes while Clark is out of action.
